CCTV, or Close Circuit Television is an ever growing means of keeping an eye out on the public body, from both public view cameras, or privatly owned and installed cameras.
Most public CCTV will be covered by the Data Protection Act, which gives you the right to see CCTV images recorded of you, such as your car number plate, or you walking through town ect.
Privatly owned CCTV however isnt covered by the Data Protection Act, for example: these types of camera include: The use of camera for limited household purposes (To protect a home from burglary) – even if the camera faces the street.
